Eclipse

“Post Tenebras Lux” is the Latin phrase meaning, “After darkness, light”, which is found on the wall behind a monument to the Protestant Reformers in Geneva, Switzerland. The metaphor conveys the fact that the light of the gospel had been eclipsed by the dark medieval period of Church history, but was allowed to shine again as God blessed the labors of the Reformers.

Their labors involved two tasks. First, they had to push away the lies. Second, they had to shine the truth. However, they did not push the darkness away for good.  The fact is an eclipse has reoccurred in our modern times. Even so, the modern eclipse is not exactly the same one of the Protestant Reformation. This one is very wide bringing many new challenges, but nevertheless the task remains the same old one. We must do two things well. One, we must push away the dark mass of lies. Two, we must shine brightly the truth of the gospel.

The labors of this website are given to those two tasks. May the Lord of glory be pleased to give us many fruits in this field, and may we be pleased to give Him glory whether He does or not.

To even put Obama and the name of Jesus in the same sentence offends me!! I’ll answer it with one word. NOTHING!!!!

The meaning behind the analogy is certainly relevant. However, I agree with the lady who affirms that comparing Jesus with Obama is inappropriate.

mr. obama may be a lot of things but there is no comparison with Jesus Christ my lord and savior
I know that mr. obama has been reffered to as the messiah but he has a long way to go to be like my lord.

Okay, it is a bit of deception on the part of the site to lure people in with President Obama’s picture and such a question on the front page of the newspaper, no less. I appreciate any effort to bring people to Christ within certain bounds, but I draw the line at deception. This is a tool of Satan, not Christ. He never drew anyone to Himself using deceptive techniques; He is and presented Himself as He was, no catch phrases, no politics.

Also, I can’t help but notice the very subtle Anti-Catholicism in the sidebar post. The Protestants pushed back the lies???? What lies? The teachings of the Catholic faith? The light of Truth, the Truth–Jesus, has shone unimpeded by the sins of men or their politics and uninterrupted since Jesus Himself established the Catholic Faith on the Rock of Peter’s Faith. Point at the sins of men committed throughout the history of the Catholic Church and remember that even more were committed by those who broke the Body of Christ by forming their own Protesting religions in the image of man, lacking the sacraments, lacking the whole TRUTH which is Jesus. Protestants even reconstructed and reinterpreted the Bible and the 10 Commandments in their own image! Accuse me of bigotry or hatred, and I will remind you that your site attacks the Catholic Church with your subtle bigotry and hatred. I am speaking in defense of my faith, so people will not be misled by your already deceptive site. Need I remind the souls behind this site that bigotry is also a tool of Satan, as is hatred.

I will pray that this site will not achieve the spread of anti-Catholicism it possibly seeks to foment. That would put innocent souls in jeopardy, and even anti-Catholic bigots are children of God.

I don’t care for President Obama and when I first saw this headline, I was furious. However, the more I read this, the more I realized how very clever it is. No matter whether you like or don’t like President Obama, you will see this headline and read it. Perhaps, reaching some of the lost souls in our world. I don’t agree with the Catholic faith, but most of the moral of this story is right on target. Kudos to them for this!

You could have fed some homeless folks, spread some bibles, or done much more constructive than this deception.

Thanks, not many people realize that we are trying to veer back towards the dark ages. It’s not a difficult task really, a little sin here, a little there, and before you know it, your accepting more and more (as individuals and a society). We can say, “But, I am only one person,” and shrink, or we can say, “I am only one person, but I will do all I can.” That is all our God in heaven asks, is that we give our best. It’s our choice.
